About Claire Dickens
(BA, MA, MBACP)
I am a qualified counsellor and a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). I offer integrative humanistic therapy based in Cambridge and online.
Humanistic therapy focuses on your individual nature, your unique experiences and your potential for growth.
As a therapist, I’ve worked in schools, charities, private practice and with students from the University of Cambridge, where I was also a tutor and Fellow providing pastoral support to students.
Not sure what to expect from counselling?
My approach is friendly and conversational. I believe that by creating a comfortable environment, we can build a supportive relationship built on trust. Humanistic therapy considers your physical, emotional and social well-being. By focusing on the whole self, humanistic therapy allows space for all sides of yourself to be expressed, helping you to reach your full potential. By doing so, therapy can have a positive impact on your general health, relationships and working life.
Counselling can be particularly helpful to individuals who find it difficult to discuss their feelings with family, partners, friends or colleagues. Therapy sessions can provide you with a safe, confidential space where you can learn to understand your thoughts, feelings and behaviours with a trained professional.
Some of the presenting issues I have worked with include:
Relationships
depression
anxiety
work and academic related stress
burnout
neurodiversity
